1
' 12 September 2002
S AGE-NC Project No 95-0137
' lead scavenger 1,2-DCA was detected 1n samples MW-1,MW-2 and MW-4 at concentrations of 15
µg/1, 44µg/1 and 300 µg/1, respectively
The analytical results are summarized in Tables 5 and 6 A copy of the laboratory report(MAI Lab
ID Numbers 90799 through 90803 and 0206330-001 to 005), quality assurance and quality control
(QA/QC) report and chain-of-custody form are included in Appendix D
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
' Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds
• The ground water elevation increase approximately 0 8 feet between December 2001 and
February 2002 and decreased 1 1 feet between February and June 2002 The fluctuation of
the ground water table exposed additional impacted-soil to the SVE system
' • Dissolved hydrocarbon concentrations generally decreased slightly or remained stable over
the fast two quarters, yet remained well below the highest concentrations detected at the site
' Benzene was detected only in sample MW-2 during the first quarter, but was detected in two
wells, one at low concentrations, during the second quarter However, dissolved 1,2 DCA
concentrations have increased
' / J
• Approximately 30 06 gallons or 87 2 kg of hydrocarbons as gasoline were extracted and ,
destroyed by the SVE network at the site between 13 December 2001 and 13 June 2002
' • Extracted organic vapor concentrations measured with the OVM were low compared to the
analytical results from the soil-vapor samples The highest concentration of organic vapor +
measured with the OVM was 46 ppm
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the remediation activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends
' • Properly survey the elevation at the top of each monrtonng-well casing relative to an
established benchmark
' • Performance of a quarterly ground water monitoring event in September 2002 concurrently
with the Jimco Truck Stop site
' • Continued operation of the soil vapor extraction and air-sparing network
' Advanced GeoEuviron mental,Inc
1
