INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> In accordance with a request from Ripon Farm Service (RFS), Achanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br /> ' (AGE)has prepared tins report for 22871 South Highway 99 in Ripon, California The report details <br /> quarterly monitoring and sampling activities performed at the site in January 1996 The location of <br /> ' the site is illustrated in Figure 1 -Location Map A plan of the site is depicted in Figure 2 - Site Plat? <br /> Monitoring and sampling activities were conducted in accordance with both the San Joaquin County <br /> 1 Public Health Services-Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) and the Central Valley Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> 1 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 21 SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located m an industrial area of low topographic relief in northern Ripon, east of Jack Tone <br /> ' Road(Figure 1) The site is currently operated by Ripon Farm Service (RFS) An automotive shop <br /> is located near the northeast corner of the site and an office building and truck scale are located at <br /> the southern comer The surface of the remainder of the site is covered with gravel Jimco Truck Stop <br /> is located immediately north of the site <br /> 2 2 UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> ' Four USTs were removed from the site on 15 July 1987 One 10,000-gallon diesel tank (Tank #1) <br /> and one 7,500-gallon diesel tank(Tank#2)were located near the tuning shop, and one 10,000-gallon <br /> unleaded gasoline tank (Tank 43) and one 10,000-gallon diesel tank (Tank 94) were located <br /> approximately 120 feet east of the shop Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples <br /> collected below Tanks #1, #2, and 93 <br /> 23 ASSESSMENT OF HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED SOIL AND GROUND WATER <br /> In April 1994, three ground water monitoring wells and five soil borings were drilled and installed <br /> at the site by Geological Audit Services, Inc (GAS) Hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water <br /> were detected in soil and ground water samples collected during the investigation <br />
