26 February 1996
AGE-NC Project No 95-013 7
' 4 2 PETROLEUM HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED GROUND WATER
TPH-g was detected in wells MW-1 though MW-4 at concentrations as high as 7,200 gg/l
(micrograms per liter, equivalent to parts per billion, ppb), as measured in MW-2 TPH-d was
detected in all wells at the site(MW-1 through MW-5) at concentrations as high as 2,200 ppb (MW-
3) BTE&X were detected in the sample from MW-2 at concentrations up to 620 ppb (xylenes)
Analytical results of ground water samples are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report (AAL
No 96-0130-006) and chain-of-custody are included in Appendix B
1
5.0. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The highest concentration of dissolved hydrocarbons detected during the January 1996 sampling was
in MW-2, located in the northern portion of the property The lowest concentrations of petroleum
' hydrocarbons were detected in wells MW-4 and MW-5, west and south of the former UST areas
Wells MW-4 and MW-5 may be located near the edge of the dissolved hydrocarbon plume
However, the lateral extent of hydrocarbon-impacted ground water north and east of the site has not
been fully charactenzed Additional investigation will be necessary north and east of the former UST
areas, and an investigation of the Jimco Truck Stop property will be necessary
Representatives AGE p s o f G and d RFS are presently seeking to obtain access permission from the Jimco
Truck Stop property owner Upon receiving approval, AGE recommends the advancement of several
soil borings or push points north (on the Jimco Truck Stop property) and east of the former UST
areas
' The next quarterly monitoring at the site should be scheduled for April 1996
' 6.0. LIMITATIONS
' Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic conditions at
the site have been made from a limited number of available data points (i a morutonng wells), and
subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or
implied, is made as to the professional recommendations contained in this report
1
