INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK <br /> In accordance with a request from Ripon Farm Service (RFS), Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br /> (AGE)has prepared this report detailing activities performed at 22871 South Highway 99 in Ripon, <br /> California The activities, which were performed in October 1995, consisted of quarterly monitoring <br /> of existing wells The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 -Location Map and a layout of the <br /> ' property is depicted in Figure 2 - Site Playa <br /> Monitoring and sampling activities were conducted in accordance with San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> ' <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> 21 SITE LOCATION <br /> ' The site is located in a flat industrial area in northern Ripon, east of Jack Tone Road (Figure 1) The <br /> site is currently operated by Ripon Farm Service (RFS) An automotive shop is located near the <br /> northeast corner of the site and an office building and truck scale are located at the southern corner <br /> The surface of the remainder of the site is covered with gravel Jimco Truck Stop is located <br /> immediately north of the site <br /> 1 2 2 UST REMOVAL <br /> Four underground storage tanks(USTs) were removed from the site on 15 July 1987 One 10,000- <br /> gallon diesel tank(Tank#1)and one 7,500-gallon diesel tank (Tank #2) were located near the tuning <br /> shop One 10,000-gallon unleaded gasoline tank(Tank 43) and one 10,000-gallon diesel tank (Tank <br /> 1 #4)were located approximately 120 feet east of the shop After removal, one sample was collected <br /> below each UST from a depth between 18 and 21 feet Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in <br /> soil samples collected below Tanks#1, 42, and #3 <br />' A letter from the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS- <br /> F.HD)dated 7 March 1994 indicated that closure of the former underground storage tanks could not <br />' be granted until further soil and ground water assessment had been completed <br /> •1 <br /> 1 - <br /> 1 <br />
