Gasoline
r 'r contaminated soils were excavated and aerated on site until gasoline compounds in the soil were
below laboratory detection limits. The clean soils were backfilled and compacted.
Three groundwater monitoring wells installed in August 1989 showed no detectable amounts of
gasoline contamination in the groundwater. Chevron's consultant,Alton Geoscience, sampled the
wells again in November 1990. Alton's report should be expected in January 1991. If the water. -
samples again show no detectable amounts of contamination, then Chevron feels that this site i
should be considered for closure. 1
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Clint Rogers at (415) 842-8658.
Sincerely,
C.
