ti 1.0 INTRODUCTION Mr. Les~Calkins has retained Park Environmental Corporation (Park) to prepare this work plan to address the'environmental issues at the facility located at 19825 North Highway 99 in Acampo, California (Figure 1). This work plan addresses the Total Petroleum�Hydrocarbon (TPH) oil contamination that was identified When the underground diesel fuel tanks were removed from the facility. R h , 1.1 Purpose of,Investigation The purpose of the work plan is to document some of the recent work that has been ongoing at the facility and to document the program that was conceptually agreed to at the March 31, 1993 meeting between Mr. Les Calkins and his representatives and Ms. Margaret Lagorio and Mr. Michael Collins of the San Joaquin Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD). 1.2 Proposed and Ongoing Scope-of Work • Document earlier ,testing (Sampling and'analysis completed); • Level and dry stockpiled soils (Verbal approval received 3131193 from PHS/EHD); • Spray tank excavation pit water onto the spread soil stockpile to dry (Verbal approval to proceed'ireceived 3131193 from PH'S/EHD); . o Empty 16 drums containing soil boring;cuttings and place on stockpile (Verbal approval to proceed received 3131193 from PHS/EHD); ` • Remove drums from area (Verbal approval to proceed received 3/31193 from PHS/EHD);' J; 1. „ 'i o Prepare Work Plan (This document); ' • Sample sidewalls and tank pit bottom; j ifi 4 T 1 • Analyze samples for TPH as gasoline and diesel, and BTEX; oPerform geotechnical evaluation to evaluate v ate the potential risks -that further excavation of the soil from the sidewalls and tank=pit bottom due to the:proximity:of an underground natural gas line within three feet of the east.pit sidewall, an above ground electrical utility pole within five feet.of the north.and east pit sidewall., and a building corner located approximately ten feet from the northeast corner,of the.pit sidewall; 1' 5003J1 r.l
