PIT SITE INVESTIGATION PLAN
This operative plan is submitted by T & T Earth Services a
partnership between Hunt Drilling Inc . and TK5 Consulting Ltd.
The following is a phased approach to a site investigation
at the Les Calkins Trucking Yard at 19501 N. Hwy 99 in Acampo ,
California. The site is being investigated as a result of
unauthorized attempts at bioremediation of leakage on overfill
contamination of diesel from two 10000 gallon tanks at the site.
The tanks have been removed from the site and the pit shows
Wisible hydrocarbon stains on the floor and side walls.
Additionally there is a pile of spoils an the site, from the pit ,
which have also had unauthorized 'inoculations of bacteria for
remediation.
PHASE I SITE BACKGROUND
Complete historic study of the site and adjacent parcels to
include past ownership and uses, County underground tack permits
and motor fuel use levels.
This phase will also include a qualitative look at the
ground water development in the immediate area. This will
encompass qualitative sampling of the three wells on the site,
ground water gradient estimations from existing studies and
comparisons of water levels from existing nearby wells and well
logs if available.
PHASE II SOIL AND SPOILS SAMPLING
Completion of 4 sail borings at the tank pit . One boring
will be made at the up gradient end of the tank pit (probably
near the tank fill at the south end ) . 2 borings at the down
gradient corners of the pit and one soil boring in the middle of
the tank pit . Sampling will be done with a I .R. A-200 hollow stem
auger drill using an auger and a split spoon sampler . Samples
will be taken in native material 2 feet below the tank pit
bottom.
In addition 3 spoils pile samples will be taken. These will
be taken from 3 feet into the spoils pile at even spacing around
the pit .
All sampling will be done according to L.U.F.T . guidelines.
Samples will be analyzed by a CAL EPA certified lab (Chemwest in
Sacramento ) for TPH-D (modified B015 method ) .
