'
14800 West Frontage Road, Manteca, California
Apex Project No. ERA02.009
Dear Mr. Moore:
On February.19, 1997, groundwater at the subject site was sampled for the First Quarter 1997
Groundwater Monitoring Event. This monitoring included sampling the nine monitoring wells
located both on and off of the subject property, the sampling of the domestic well located at the
store (on-site), and the sampling of the domestic well located at the trailer park to the south of the
subject property (off-site).
The domestic on-site well located at the subject property has been sampled quarterly since March
` 1996. Since that time; 1,2 Dichloroethane (EDC) has been intermittently detected at levels above
the laboratory detection limits of 0.5 micro-grams per liter (ug/1). Due to the intermittent nature
of this constituent in the on-site domestic well combined with the fact that the levels were close to j
E _ the Iaboratory detection--limits,—Apex hypothesized-that,possiblythis may have been the result of a !
laboratory error.
i
On February 19, 1997, split samples from the domestic well were sent to two different labs for
analysis of EDC. One lab reported EDC at 2.7 ug/l and the other at 3.2 ug/l. This rules out
possible laboratory errors.
j.:i.:. • }: ✓1: _ t.J i..c,A;, _., ;` ' rr"0.Ji. . r". -. .. .. ;.«." :4 •f`.;;..1! :' 1V"ir.
•41t.l:.._ Nl_
f k
1
J
