Hwy 99
Manteca, CA
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) has reviewed the "Quarterly Groundwater
Monitoring & Remediation Status Report" dated September 25, 1995,
prepared by Apex Environtech, Inc . (Apex) for the above referenced
site .
The results of the groundwater samples from all nine monitoring
wells were non detect for BTEX and TPH for the first time, so it
appears that the groundwater and vapor extraction systems are
succeeding in remediating those contaminants . EDC is still being
evidenced in the water samples from the 5 monitoring wells that are
being tested for this contaminant . The remediation system should
continue to operate at the site until PHS/EHD approves of its
removal . -
r
The last report for this site was dated April 14, 1995, and was
prepared by Emcon. This report provided information through March
27, 1995 . The September 25, 1995, report by Apex states that they
began work on the site on June 14, 1995, after groundwater
monitoring had been conducted by Emcon on May 9, 1995 . There is
over 2 months of information about the operation of the groundwater
and vapor extraction system that has not been reported to PHS/EHD.
The laboratory analytical results and field note information from
the May 9, 1995, monitoring event have also not been provided to
'PHS/EHD. Please submit by December 15, 1995, a report that covers
all information obtained and work performed at the site from March
27, 1995, until June 14, 1995 .
PHS/EHD staff made a site inspection on May 1, 1995, and was told
that the total gallons of influent to the groundwater extraction
system at that time was 116, 977 gallons . The September 25, 1995,
Apex report states that the total flow on June 13 , 1995 was 83 , 128
gallons which is substantially less than the gallonage reported 6
weeks earlier. Emcon reported that on March 13 , 1995 the total
flow was 76, 000 gallons.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
