(Apex) is in the process of requesting case closure for the environmental
remediation wvork at the Exxon Station. The Exxon Station is located at 14800 W. Frontage
Road, immediately north of your apartment complex at 14840 W.Frontage Road is 11+lianteca,
California. As part of the closure process, Apex is required by the San Yoaquin County
Environmental Health Department(SJCEHD)to notify you as to the proximity of your domestic
well to this environmental investigation site that is currently being classified as"No Further
Action." Notification to you is being issued since no coustTuction details on your domestic well
could be located.
Well construction details for your domestic well are important in detem ming the total well depth
and well screed interval. Apex attempted to obtain this information with regards to the domestic
well at your property. Apex has contacted and/or reviewed file records with Ms. Tina Rhode(the
current property representative),Mr. John Saathoff(the previous property owner's
representative), the California Department of Water Resources, the S.10ERD and the Assessor's
Office. No construction details could be located on this well at this time. Since no well
construction details for your well have been located,we are hereby notifying you that your
domestic well may be drawing water from an aquifer that was impacted by the subsurface
conditions at the Exxon Station,
Apex has sampled your domestic well for concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons on a
quarterly basis in 1997. The laboratory reports indicated that all petroleum hydrocarbons tested
were below laboratory detection limits. The lab reported 62 parts-per-billion(ppb) of total
petroleum hydirowboos, as gasoline(TPHg)in the sample collected on May 29, 1997, from this
.well. At the time, however, Apex suspected that the 62 ppb of TPlig in the lab report was the
result of a lab error. Apex re-sampled the well on August Z9, 1997 and again on November 21,
JY_D_1 PROJECr1E'SMaIA02.009-ldwre Pctmlcum,h'[2vtecapertni[VCertiEietlI.etier.doc
