This site assessment consisted of the
is
drilling of two soil borings and the installation of a monitoring well in each soil boring. Soil and water
fra
samples were collectr.d from the soil borings and monitoring wells, respectively. The following sections,
( ° 1.3.1 and 1.3.2,are summaries of the ETS report that resulted from this investigation (ETS Environmental
Prelbn?nary Site Assessment,Project No.303,dated October 7, 1988).
I F
1.3.1 Soil Borings
Inc two soil borings (MW-1 and MW-2)were advanced with a hollow-stern auger to a depth of 49 and
45 feet, respectively. Soil samples were taken at 5-foot-depth intervals with a California modified split-
spoon sampler. Figure 2 shows tt,,location of the soil borings/monitoring wells. Boring logs for the soil
borings are presented in Appendix A.
Lm
Soil samples collected from the soil borings were analyzed by a California-certified laboratory for BTEX, -
and-TPPHby EPA-Method-524:2/8240: Results of the analyses are listedto TabIs L
s, Laboratory reports for the soil samples are presented in Appendix B. As shown in Table 1, BTEX
constituents are found at low levels in all soil samples with the highest values found in the 20-foot sarliple
taken from MW-2 BTEX and TPPH results from this sample were 0.06, 0.37, 0,31, 1.9, and 88 ppm,
respectively.
