GE <br /> GENESIS ENGINEERING&REDEVELOPMENT <br /> B-9-GW Groundwater sample from boring B -9 location <br /> B-9-D Duplicate sample from boring B-9 location <br /> The final sequence will identify depth of the soil sample. <br /> -5 Depth of sample <br /> A sample designated as 106-B-9S-5,therefore represents a soil sample collected from direct <br /> push boring location B-9 at depth of 5 feet below grade. <br /> A sample designated as 106-B-9-GW-55, therefore represents groundwater sample collected <br /> from boring location B-9 from a depth of 55 feet bgs. <br /> Quality control samples include duplicate samples and trip blanks. The following is the <br /> labeling criteria for these samples. <br /> Duplicate Samples—Duplicate samples will be blind-labeled to conceal the actual <br /> sample location. A sample designated as 106-D-9S-5, therefore represents a <br /> duplicate soil sample collected from boring location B-9 at depth of 5 feet below <br /> grade. Duplicate samples will be documented as such on the field data forms. <br /> 3.3.3 Handling and Shipping <br /> The labeled and sealed sample containers shall be placed in plastic bags(e.g., Ziploc bags) <br /> and sealed. Glass containers shall be wrapped in bubble wrap before being placed in the <br /> sealed plastic bag. Bagged sample containers shall be placed in the bottom of the cooler and <br /> arranged so that they do not touch. Bagged sample containers shall be packed between <br /> double plastic-bagged ice and additional packing material to prevent breakage. Samples <br /> shall be placed so as to maintain a temperature of approximately 4°C +2 degrees during <br /> shipment. Chain-of-Custody Records shall be sealed in plastic bags and taped to the inside <br /> of the cooler lid. <br /> The lid of the cooler shall be taped shut and sealed with two custody seals. Samples shall be <br /> shipped directly to the laboratory by overnight courier on the day they were collected. The <br /> laboratory shall be notified by phone or by FAX of the sample shipment schedule, air bill <br /> number, and arrival time.
