City of Ripon, et al. <br /> Superior Court for San Joaquin County <br /> Case No. CV025997 <br /> Dear Ms. Terrell: <br /> Genesis Engineering&Redevelopment, LLC ("GE&R")has prepared this Work Plan to conduct <br /> groundwater investigation activities in defense of Ripon Farm Services, Inc. ("RFS")and to <br /> satisfy the requests of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board("RWQCB") for <br /> additional nitrate investigation activities to document the levels of nitrates in the vicinity of the <br /> Ripon Farm Services facility, located at 938 Frontage Road, in Ripon, California("Site"). The <br /> investigation activities will consist of installing groundwater monitoring wells to assess the <br /> levels of nitrates in the groundwater in the vicinity of the Site. The location of the Site is shown <br /> on Figure 1. <br /> During October 2005, four shallow groundwater monitoring wells(MW-101 through MW-104) <br /> were installed on the Site. Nitrates were detected during the subsequent sampling events. <br /> Nitrates have also been detected in numerous private domestic wells and in the City of Ripon <br /> municipal water supply wells. The objective of the groundwater investigation activities outlined <br /> in this Work Plan is to better define the levels of nitrates in groundwater in the vicinity of the <br /> Site. <br /> Site Settiniz <br /> The Site is located in a mixed industrial/commercial area on the northwest side of Ripon and is <br /> bounded by Highway 99 to the southwest; a truck stop with a truck wash to the north; and <br /> agricultural and commercial uses to the south and east.
