GENESIS ENGINEERING &REDEVELOPMENT <br /> Ms. Amy Terrell <br /> August 21, 2006 <br /> Page 3 <br /> The following are the work activities associated with each of these six Tasks. <br /> Task 1 — Pre-field activities <br /> Pre-field activities will include: <br /> • Obtaining access agreements for the proposed monitoring well locations from the owners <br /> of private property and encroachment permits from the City of Ripon, as needed—the <br /> exact locations of the proposed sampling and monitoring wells will be based, in part, on <br /> field constraints,permitting issues, access agreements,utility locations, and other <br /> subsurface obstructions <br /> • Marking and clearing proposed monitoring well locations of subsurface utilities and other <br /> interferences using a subsurface locator company <br /> • Obtaining boring and well permits from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department <br /> • Administering contracts for the drilling subcontractor, analytical laboratory, and <br /> subsurface locator <br /> • Preparing a site-specific Health and Safety Plan <br /> Access to any off-site private properties will require negotiation with individual property owners <br /> and may require assistance from the RWQCB. <br /> Task 2 —Monitoring Well Installation <br /> Shallow Monitoring Wells <br /> Four shallow monitoring wells will be installed in locations surrounding the Site. The proposed <br /> locations are shown on Figures 1 and 3. The well borings will be advanced to a depth of <br /> approximately 40 feet using a hollow stem auger. The wells will be constructed of 2-inch <br /> diameter, schedule 40,poly vinyl chloride casing, and machine slotted 0.010-inch screen at the <br />
