05 July 2005
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0137
• North of the liquid fertilizer batch plant area to characterize ground water.
The proposed ground water monitoring well locations will be advanced to approximately 15 feet
below first encountered ground water utilizing hollow-stem drilling techniques. Total depths of
borings may vary according to hydrogeologic/geologic conditions encountered during drilling.
3.3. MONITORING WELL DEVELOPMENT AND SURVEY
Following installation, each well will be developed to maximize water flow and minimize the
amount of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing. After well
development, the location and top of each well casing(well head)will be surveyed.Procedures for
well installation, development and survey are presented in Sections 4.2. and 4.3.,respectively.
3.4. GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
Ground water monitoring and sampling activities for each newly installed ground water monitoring
well will be conducted on a quarterly basis unless an alternate schedule or suspension of monitoring
is approved or required.Ground water monitoring activities will include recording depth to ground
water measurements and collection of ground water samples for laboratory analysis.Ground water
sample collection procedures are described in Section 4.4 and depicted in Tablel.
Ground water samples will initially be analyzed by a State of California Department of Health
Services(DHS)-certified laboratory for:
• Nitrates in accordance with EPA Method 300;
• Ammonia(as Nitrogen)in accordance with EPA Method 350.3 and
• pH in accordance with EPA Method 150.1.
3.5. PREPARATION OF REPORT OF FINDINGS
Following each ground water monitoring event,a quarterly report will be prepared presenting the
findings. Each report will include a description of work performed and the results of the
groundwater monitoring, sampling and analysis. Laboratory reports for ground water analyses,
testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC)reports, and sample chain
of custody documentation will be presented in the quarterly report. Conclusions and
recommendations will also be included, if applicable.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
