The Department is requesting access to your property to obtain analytical information from soil <br /> sampling within the proposed alignment. <br /> Work would include excavation to an approximate maximum depth of 16 feet. Soil samples will be collected using a <br /> hollow stem auger or direct push rig. Please see the attached diagram of the proposed area of study. Any ground <br /> disturbances will be repaired immediately and the ground will be returned to its pre-existing condition. We are asking for <br /> an encroachment permit to complete these studies. Additionally, environmental specialists will be out conducting visual <br /> surveys of the property. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns. <br /> These studies are being conducted in accordance with authority granted to the Department of Transportation as found in <br /> Chapter 4 Section 1245.010 of the State Statutes. We anticipate the studies will begin as soon as possible and will continue <br /> through December 2009. <br /> Please sign on the line below to acknowledge your receipt and consent, and return the signed copy either in the enclosed <br /> self-addressed stamped envelope or fax to the number listed above.
