I <br /> of the alternatives proposes to relocate the Charter Way interchange to a new location south of the <br /> existing Golden Gate overcrosssing. The project limits are within PM 15.0 to PM 18.6, Stockton, San <br /> Joaquin County. <br /> 1.2 Project Objectives <br /> The primary objective of the proposed scope of services is to identify potential hazardous waste issues <br /> associated with this project including asbestos containing materials, heavy metals and hydrocarbons. A <br /> geophysical survey will be performed in Locations 1 and 2 to assist in the location of potential former <br /> USTs, pipelines, conduits, sumps,wells, underground utilities or other buried structures. <br /> 1.4 Planned Scope of Services <br /> • General survey/non-intrusive activities; <br /> • Geophysical Survey <br /> • Asbestos sampling activities <br /> • Soil sampling activities (direct-push) <br /> 1.5 Schedule <br /> Anticipated Period of Performance: January 2010 <br /> Anticipated Weather/Temperature: Cold to moderate(fieldwork will NOT be conducted during <br /> precipitation or periods of reduced visibility) <br /> 2.0 ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS/CONTROLS <br /> 2.1 Personnel <br /> Personnel responsible for project safety include the Project Manager, the Consulting Certified <br /> Industrial Hygienist (CIH), the Company Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC), and participating <br /> project personnel. The Company CAC will act as the designated Site Safety Officer(SSO). <br /> 2.1.1 Project Manager <br /> The Project Manager has ultimate authority and responsibility for project Health and Safety. <br /> Accordingly, he/she has the responsibility to develop the HSP (or assign its development); audit <br /> compliance with the provisions of this HSP; suspend project activities or modify service practices for <br /> health and safety reasons, and; to dismiss from a project site individuals whose onsite conduct either <br /> endangers the health and/or safety of others or is judged not to comply with the provisions of the HSP. <br /> The Project Manager is responsible for sharing/distributing the HSP to participating field personnel and <br /> to an authorized representative of each project subcontractor. The Project Manager is also responsible <br /> for implementing all provisions of the HSP and any applicable addenda.
