Oak Street
Stockton, CA 95205
Dear Diggler and Wad LLC:
ent
DepE
rThSan Joaquin, County Environmntaleviewed Site Assessment Work Plane dated 08tNovember 2013, prepared and sved and
ubmitted
by your consulting firm, Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (B & A), on your behalf for the
above-referenced site. The EHD approves the work plan with conditions as noted below:
In the Site Assessment Work Plan, B & A reported that after reviewing the historical and
samling daa for MW-8, they beeve the rity of
sed
and the a istno evidence of vertical migration ti nth s we. Therefore,8 has tB & A conclude been lthat
decommissioning and replacing MW-8 with another monitoring well would not add any
value to the future sampling and monitoring results of the site. B & A also recommends
that MW-8 be left as a data point and continue to be sampled on a semi-annual basis.
The EHD is of the opinion, that MW-8 provides vertical delineation of impacted
MW-1S, MWAD and
groundwater as, MW-3S show impact that is apparently not cross-
contaminating MW-8. Therefore, the EHD concurs with the recommendation presented by
B &A.
In the Site Assessment Work Plan, B &A proposes to perform a ground penetrating radar
Although survey not to verafy ed y tthat no he EHD, this proposed scope of wok is apprrovedunderground storage tanks are nt at the site.
B & A also proposes to purge and sample the soil gas wells after conducting shut in and
helium leak test. According to the Department of Toxic Substances Control, April 2012
Active Soil Gas Advisory Investigations, "For soil gas wells installed with hollow stem or
hand auger drilling methods, do not conduct the purge volume test, leak test and soil gas
sampling for at least 48 hours after soil gas probe installation."
