Hwy 120
Ripon, CA 95366
i
As the responsible party, you were notified on April 9, 1991, that
a Work Plan should be submitted to San Joaquin County, Public
Health Services, Environmental Health Division, by May 6, 1991.
This Work Plan has not been received by this office.
Instead, a letter report was submitted by WaterWork on June 18,
1991. This letter has been reviewed with the following remarks:
1. San Joaquin County Flood Control maps are not acceptable
for use in determining site specific groundwater
gradients, nor do they take into consideration any site
specific gradient influences (from nearby rivers or
agricultural wells, for example) . The verified
downgradient direction has not yet been determined at
this site.
2 . Tri-Regional Guidelines does allow for one monitoring
well in the verified downgradient direction within 10
feet of the former tank excavation area (the source) .
The groundwater gradient is verified by existing
monitoring wells at an adjacent or nearby site. Franzia
Winery does not qualify to use this option because. no
verified groundwater gradient exists in the area.
Additionally, the monitoring well existing at the site is
not in the proposed or expected downgradient direction of
the former tank excavation area.
i
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services >
