Hwy 120
Ripon, CA
July 13, 1999
Project No. 775.2
1.0 INTRODUCTION
A convenience store is operated on this site. Several other out buildings are also present on
the site.
On March 17, 1999, three gasoline UST's were removed under permit from the site. Soil
samples collected-at the time of removal .showed low concentrations of Toluene, Ethyl
Benzene, Xylene and gasoline range hydrocarbons are present in the soil at.the south end of
the center tank (TK-2 S). All other samples collected were non-detect. None of the
oxygenated fuel compounds were detected.
2.0 PROPOSED INVESTIGATION
Soil Disposal &Excavation Backfill
Prior to beginning any investigation work at the site the excavation for the USTs need to be
backfilled. The work will be performed as follows:
1. The stockpiled soil that samples SP-3A & SP-3B were collected from should be
transported to an appropriate facility to be disposed of.
2. The other stockpiled soil from the excavation can be used to back fill that excavation
since both the stockpiled soil samples tested non-detect for petroleum hydrocarbons.
Some additional clean fill will need to be brought in.
3. Clean fill will be brought in to fill the waste oil UST excavation.
Soil & Groundwater Investigation
The purpose of this investigation is to determine if the soil contamination is high enough and
extends to a depth to warrant further work.
To accomplish this goal, GTI proposes to install one borehole at the site to a depth of t60
feet below grade. This boring will be named SB-1 and will be located immediately south of
