GROUND WATER SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS
During the soil assessment activities, grab ground water samples will be collected and analyzed from
the soil boring#at the south end of the former UST(Figure 2). Grab ground water sample collection
procedures are presented in Section 4.2.
The grab ground water sample will be analyzed by a DHS-certified laboratory for the following
constituents:
• TPH-g by EPA Method 8015 Modified;
• BTEX by EPA Method 8020;
• Oxygenating compounds including MTBE,TBA,DIPE,ETBE,and TAME by EPA Method
8260 modified.
Laboratory reports for ground water analyses,testing methods, laboratory quality assurance/quality
control (QA/QC)reports, and sample chain of custody documentation will be presented in a report
with the findings and recommendations.
3.4. MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION AND SAMPLING
As a result of the soil and ground water sampling for the UST removal, significant petroleum
hydrocarbon impacts to ground water were detected. Therefore, four ground water monitoring wells
will be installed at the site. Proposed locations for monitoring wells are presented in Figure 2. The
proposed monitoring wells will provide repeatable sampling points for the monitoring of impacts
to ground water and allow determination of site-specific ground water flow direction.The procedures
for monitoring well installation and collection of soil and ground water samples are presented in
Section 4.1. and Section 4.5., respectively. Monitoring well installation activities are described
below.
3.4.1. Soil Sample Collection and Analysis
During the drilling of the proposed monitoring well borings, soil samples will be collected at five-
Advanced GeoEnvironmentsl,Inc.
