I
 ! I
26 April 2000
• AGE-NC Project No 99-0520
Klamath Mountains in the north The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised
of the California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada, respectively Rocks composing the basement
complex of the province have not been completely defined but are believed to be metamorphic and
igneous in origin The'Great Valley Province is subdivided into'two mayor divisions designated as
the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys
' The nearest surface water feature in the vicinity of the property is the San Joaquin River
approximately 5,000 feet northeast of the site A domestic ground water well is located on the site
Based on information from Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater - Sprang 1996, published by the
San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, the estimated depth to ground
water at the site is less then 10 feet below surface grade (bsg) Based on information from Lines of
' Equal Elevation to Groundwater- Sprang 1996, the approximate ground water elevation at the siteis
less then 10 feet above mean sea level The regional ground water flows toward the northeast,
although flow directions may be both locally and seasonably van able Information obtained from the
UST removal indicated that ground water depth at the site is approximately 12 feet bsg
3.0. SCOPE OF WORK
The site investigation was conducted to assess the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon impact to soil and ground water beneath and surrounding the former gasoline dispenser
location at the site The scope of work conducted during the site investigation activities included
r • Advancement of six soil borings,
' • Collection of soil samples from each soil boring,
• Installation and development of five ground water monitoring wells,
• Collection of ground water samples from each of the monitoring wells,
' • Laboratory analysis of selected soil and ground water samples for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), volatile aromatic compounds (benzene, toluene, ethyl-
benzene and total xylene BTEX) and fuel oxygenating compounds including di-isopropyl
ether(DIPE), ethyl tertiary-butyl ether(ETBE),ethanol, methyl-tertiary butyl ether(MTBE),
tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME) and tertiary-butanol (TBA),
' Preparation of this report presenting the findings and results of the investigation activities
I
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc.
I
