k' HORIZON ENVIRONMENTAL INC. <br /> Specialists in Site Assessment Remedial Testing Design and Operation <br /> September 6, 2005 <br /> Mr Mike Karvelot <br /> Quik Stop Markets Inc <br /> 4567 Enterprise Street <br /> Fremont, California 94538 <br /> Subject Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Report <br /> Third Quarter 2005 <br /> Quik Stop Station No 076 <br /> 1030 South Olive Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> I <br /> Mr Karvelot <br /> I <br /> Horizon Environmental Inc (Horizon) has prepared this report which documents third <br /> quarter 2005 groundwater monitoring at the subject site located in San Joaquin County as <br /> shown on Figure 1 There is currently one groundwater monitoring well (MW-1) at the + <br /> site as shown on Figure 2 <br /> • Groundwater Monitoring <br /> Groundwater monitoring activities were conducted by Horizon on August 17, 2005 <br /> according to Horizon Field Methods and Procedures (Attachment A) Monitoring <br /> activities included measurement of static groundwater level, purging groundwater from <br /> the well, collection of groundwater samples, disposal of purge water, and preparation and <br /> delivery of the samples to the analytical laboratory <br /> The depth to groundwater was measured to the nearest 0 01 foot from the top-of-casing <br /> (TOC) in monitoring well MWA The groundwater physical parameters conductivity, , <br /> pH and temperature were monitored with field instrumentation during the purging <br /> process The visual characteristics of turbidity and presence of free product or sheen if <br /> any, and the obvious olfactory characteristics of the groundwater were also noted during <br /> the purging process Field groundwater level and purge data was recorded a Monitoring <br /> Well Data sheet (Attachment B) <br /> Groundwater was collected from monitoring well MW-1 and was submitted, under chain- <br /> of-custody (COC) documentation, to Kiff Analytical LLC (Kiff), a California Department <br /> of Health Services-certified analytical laboratory (FLAP No 2236) located in Davis, <br /> California The sample was analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbon as gasoline <br /> (TPHg), the volatile aromatic compounds benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total <br /> xylenes (BTEX), the fuel oxygenate methyl-t-butyl ether (MTBE) by Environmental <br /> • Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8260B <br /> I <br /> 4970 WFndplay Drive #C5 • EI Dorado Hills CA 95762 • (916)939-2170 • FAX(916)939-2172 <br /> PO Box 5283 • Bakersfield CA 93388 • (661)589-8389 • FAX(661)589-1456 <br />
