I
' QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING REPORT
FOURTH QUARTER—OCTOBER, 2000
' Canepa's Car Wash
248 East Park Street
' Stockton California
IJanuary 18, 2001
1. INTRODUCTION
' Condor Earth Technologies, Inc (Condor) conducted quarterly groundwater monitoring on October 13,
2000, at the Canepa's Car Wash facility located at 248 East Park Street in Stockton, California (Figure 1,
Appendix A) The groundwater monitoring was conducted at the request of Mr Remo Canepa, facility
owner, in response to direction from Mr Ronald Rowe of the San Joaquin County Public Health
Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) The work conducted during the quarterly
' groundwater monitoring was performed in general accordance with approved protocol formerly
established for the site The scope-of-work performed was approved by Mr Ronald Rowe of the
PHS/EHD This report includes site background information, a description of the field and laboratory
analyses performed for the October 2000 quarterly monitoring event, discussion of results, and
' recommendations
2. SITE BACKGROUND
The site is located in the downtown business district of Stockton, California One 12,000-gallon unleaded
gasoline underground storage tank (UST), one 5,000-gallon leaded gasoline UST, and one 5,000-gallon
diesel fuel UST were removed from the site in 1990 According to WHF Environmental Consultants, Inc
(WHF), soil samples collected from the UST excavation from approximately 16 feet below the ground
surface (bgs) contained elevated concentrations of gasoline and gasoline constituents Between
' September 1993 and March 1994, WHF installed six soil borings and seven monitor wells in and around
the site Three of the monitor wells (MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3) were constructed with a screened
interval from 45 to 65 feet bgs MW-4 through MW-7 were constructed with a screen interval from 40 to
60 feet bgs
Beginning in April 1997, Condor implemented a quarterly groundwater monitoring program at the site
Following the July 1998 quarterly groundwater monitoring event, Mr Rowe of the PHS/EHD ordered the
installation of additional monitor wells The previously installed monitor wells (MW-1 through MW-7)
are screened below the present groundwater table A work plan dated November 17, 1998, was prepared
I by Condor for the installation of four additional monitor wells (MW-8 through MW-11) and is currently
pending approval by the PHS/EHD
3. QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING — OCTOBER, 2000
On October 13, 2000, a Condor representative made field observations and collected groundwater
samples from the seven monitor wells at the site (see Figure 2, Appendix A, for well locations) The
• sampling order was as follows MW-4, MW-6, MW-3, MW-1, MW-7, MW-2, and MW-5
t, CONDOR
