' 15 November 2004
• AGE-NC Project No 96-0229
' • The highest concentrations of dissolved MTBE were detected off-site from First Water Zone
wells MW-6(screened 25-45 feet)and MW-9(screened 20-40 ft), and from First Confining
Unit well MW-i OB(screened 50-55 feet) Lesser MTBE concentrations were detected onsite
from First Water Zone wells MW-1,MW-2,MW-4 and off-site from wells MW-7,MW-11,
MW-12, MW-16 (A and B) and MW-18B The vertical extent of MTBE appears to be
approximately between 45 feet (MW-6) and 62 feet (MW-13A/MW-14A)
' • TPH-g, BTEX, and MTBE were reported for the eleventh consecutive quarter in water
samples collected from MW-9, a significant decrease in TPH-g, BTEX, and MTBE
I concentrations was evident between the November 2003 and the June 2004 monitoring
events, suggesting that the plume of petroleum-impacted ground water may have shifted
more eastward (Table 3)
L • Significant concentrations of 1,2-DCA were detected in the samples collected from wells
MW-1, MW-9, MW-10B, MW-16C, MW-17A, MW-18C, and MW-19-A
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
' • Based upon data collected during June 2004, AGE recommends
• Continued utilization of wells MW-1 through MW-19 for quarterly groundwater monitoring
and sampling
• Ground water monitoring of the subject site concurrently with Pacific Mini Mart (4511
Pacific Avenue)
Based on the data collected during the second quarter 2004, additional ground water monitoring
wells are not warranted at this time and the existing monitoring well network may be sufficient to
complete a site Problem Assessment Report (PAR)
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
en-vironinental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the
geologic/hydrogeologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a
limited number of available data points(e g ground water samples),and subsurface conditions may
vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the
professional interpretations, opinions, and recommendations contained in this report
IAdvanced GeoEnviron mental,Inc
I
