i <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> This Work Plan describes tiie proposed procedures for soil excavation and sampling at <br /> ARCO Products Company (ARCO)service station No. 6100 (Site) located at 25775 South <br /> Patterson Pass Road, Tracy, California (Figure 1). The purpose of the excavation is to <br /> { from beneath the existing underground storage tanks <br /> remove hydrocarbon-contaminated soil <br /> val. Mr. William Snavely with the San Joaquin Local <br /> immediately following tank remo <br /> v" Health District(SJLHD) informed Roux and ARCO at a field meeting held at the Site on <br /> i <br /> June 28, 1990 that the SJLHD requires an approved Work Plan prior to exc,ivation of soil <br /> at depth greater than ave feet below the tanks. Preliminary soil borings at the site detected <br /> 1 petroleum hydrocarbons at depths greater than five feet below the tanks. Therefore, t . <br /> excavation of soil deeper than five feet below the tanks is anticipated.
