Page 5 <br /> square feet of asphalt surrounding the monitoring well was damaged during drilling and <br /> therefore required replacement Site activities, including asphalt replacement, were <br /> completed on September 21, 2000 A traffic-rated vault box was placed over the top of <br /> the well casing <br /> A Delta field technician visited the site on September 28, 2000 to develop MW-1 Using <br /> an interface probe, the Delta representative determined that gasoline product was present <br /> on top of the water in the well A one-inch diameter disposable TeflonTM bailer was used <br /> to remove the free phase product from the well The well was allowed to recharge and <br /> product re-entered the well, this product was subsequently removed from the well The <br /> field data sheet included in Appendix B presents the measured product thickness and rate <br /> of recharge During this event approximately 2 5 gallons of product/water was removed <br /> from the well Due to the continued recharge of free product into the well, the well was <br /> not developed The monitoring well will be developed once the well is absent of free <br /> product <br /> Installation of Free-Phase Product Skimmer <br /> A Delta technician returned to the site on October 3, 2000 and installed a Keck TM passive <br /> product removal skimmer in monitoring well MW-1 The skimmer consists of a canister <br /> approximately 4 inches in diameter and 60 inches in length The skimmer separates, <br /> recovers and stores gasoline product/fluid The skimmer has been monitored weekly <br /> Water and gasoline product recovered from the canister is placed in a steel 55-gallon <br /> DOT approved drum and stored onsite <br /> Laboratory Analysis <br /> Eleven soil samples collected from the boring were submitted to Sequoia in Sacramento <br /> for chemical analysis The samples were submitted with the appropriate chain-of-custody <br /> documentation The samples were analyzed for TPHG using USEPA Method 8015 <br /> DHS/LUFT, for methanol and ethanol using USEPA Method 8015 Modified, and for <br /> BTEX, methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl <br /> ether (DIPS), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), <br /> ethanol, 1,2 dichloroethane (1,2 DCA) and ethylene dibromide (EDB) using USEPA <br /> Method 8260A A composite sample of waste soil was collected and additionally <br /> analyzed for total lead using USEPA Method 6010 <br />
