4 0 REMEDIAL ACTIONS <br /> 4.1 Soil Excavation and Removal <br /> An unknown quantity of soil was excavated and removed from the site during the UST <br /> replacement activities in November 1990 Delta oversaw the excavation and removal of <br /> approximately 315 tons of petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil from beneath the former <br /> product dispensers and product piping trenches on January 23, 2002 <br /> 4.2 Free Product Removal <br /> Removal of free product at the site was initiated in September 2000, shortly following the <br /> installation of well MW-1 Approximately 178 gallons (MW-1) 2 gallons (VW-1), and 10 <br /> gallons (VW-4) of free product/groundwater mixture have been manually removed from the <br /> subsurface Free product removal from wells VW-1 and VW-4 was discontinued in 2003 due to <br /> insufficient quantities of groundwater/free product in the wells Data associated with historical <br /> free product removal at the site is included to Appendix G <br /> 4.3 Soil Vapor Extraction <br /> Continuous SVE was initiated at the site on March 15, 2004, using two 200 cubic feet per minute <br /> • (cfm) King, Buck & Associates, Inc electric catalytic oxidizers equipped with 7 5 horsepower <br /> blowers Soil vapors are currently being extracted from wells VW-1, VW-3, VW-4, VW-6, <br /> VW-8, VW-14, MW-7, and MW-9 Lateral conveyance piping has been connected to wells <br /> VW-1, VW-3, VW-4, VW-6 through VW-9, VW-11 through VW-14, VW-16, and MW-2 <br /> through MW-9 As of June 7, 2004, an estimated cumulative mass of 3,801 pounds of GRO has <br /> been removed from the subsurface using SVE A map illustrating the configuration of the lateral <br /> conveyance piping, additional information regarding the SVE system, historical analytical data <br /> associated with SVE, and historical SVE equipment operational data are presented to <br /> Appendix H <br /> r <br /> P\Bj-Arco for URS\61005Repor1s\erco6100 assessment wnLupdare doc Page 11 5TKA TU5 <br />
