2.0 HISTORICAL AND 2004 SITE ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES <br /> Assessment of petroleum hydrocarbon impact was initiated in June 1990 Several consultants <br /> have been involved in environmental investigations completed at this site The following is a <br /> summary of environmental assessment activities conducted to date Locations of all soil borings <br /> and wells are included on Figure 2 Histoncal information regarding soil boring depths and well <br /> construction details are summarized in tables provided in Appendix A Soil boring logs, well <br /> details, and California Department of Water Resources (DWR) well completion and destruction <br /> forms for the 2004 site assessment activities are also presented in Appendix A <br /> 2.1 Summary of Environmental Investigations <br /> • Applied GeoSystems, Inc directed the advancement of borings B-1 through B-5 between <br /> June 6 and 8, 1990 <br /> • The USTs were replaced in November 1990 Roux Associates, Inc collected compliance <br /> soil samples between November 7 and 28, 1990 <br /> • Resna oversaw the advancement of borings B-6 through B-28 between October 1991 and <br /> December 1992 Select bonngs were converted to wells VW-1 through VW-17 <br /> • EMCON installed wells VW-18, VW-19, and VW-20 between June 26 and July 5, 1995 <br /> . • Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc (Delta) directed the advancement of boring B-32, <br /> and the conversion of this borehole to well MW-1, between August 24 and 30, 2000 <br /> • Delta also oversaw the advancement of bonngs B-33 through B-38, and the installation of <br /> wells MW-2 through MW-9, between August 29 and September 25, 2001 <br /> • The fuel dispensers and product piping were replaced during the first quarter 2002 Delta <br /> collected compliance soil samples between January 18 and February 11, 2002 <br /> • Stratus oversaw the advancement of bonngs B-39 through B-43, the installation of wells <br /> MW-10 and MW-12 through MW-15, the installation and subsequent destruction of well <br /> MW-11, and the destruction of well VW-15 between February 17 and June 2, 2004 Data <br /> associated with the 2004 soil boring and well installation activities are included in this <br /> document <br /> 2.2 2004 Site Characterization Activities <br /> The objectives of the site assessment activities were to <br /> • Further assess the lateral and vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impact to soil <br /> • Evaluate the presence of groundwater southeast of the site <br /> • Further characterize the extent of free product southeast of the site <br /> • Destroy damaged well VW-15 <br /> To accomplish these objectives, Stratus implemented the following work activities <br /> P 1Bp-Arw for UR5161MRepartAamo6100 assessment scm update d" Page 3 5MAW5 <br />
