TPHg and benzene concentrations were significant
and fluctuated widely from December 1994 to April 1999, but following
implementation of SVE , exhibited much less variation and a gradual decline, a
trend that continued to November 2008 , the implementation of GWE does not
appear to have greatly affected TPHg and benzene concentration trends. MTBE
exhibited an increasing trend similar to that described for MW-1 , and perhaps for
the same reason . After July 2002, MTBE was detected only once, at 1 part per
billion (ppb). In the opinion of the EHD , the concentration trends in this well are
not suggestive of a second release , and are the opposite of those cited by F&B
to support the new release interpretation for the Lahontan Region site -
increasing TPHg and BTEX.
Second Release Evaluation 0409
