Canapes Car Wash Page 2 of 2
a 6230 Pacific Avenue 12/ 1 /2008
Stockton CA
The EHD does not concur with AGE's proposal to perform fuel fingerprinting analysis .
Impacted groundwater data are not suggestive of additional sources contributing to the
groundwater contamination plume. The groundwater plume appears to be localized on
site with high concentrations downgradient of the presumed source area and is
delineated in the upgradient and cross-gradient directions. The EHD is not aware of
other potential sources for the contaminants and none have been identified by AGE.
Fuel "finger printing" has not been technically justified , and therefore the EHD does
cannot approve the analysis . The EHD concurs with AGE's proposal to conduct a soil
gas survey to evaluate the potential for vapor intrusion and to collect soil samples to
evaluate the residual mass of petroleum hydrocarbons following soil remediation .
The groundwater plume is not delineated vertically near the source area or laterally
down-gradient from the source area and requires additional investigation . The EHD
directs that work plans to conduct additional site assessment and to collect soil gas
samples to assess the potential for vapor intrusion be submitted to the EHD for review
by January 14, 2008.
If you have any questions, please contact Frank Girardi , Senior Registered
Environmental ealth Specialist at (209) 953-7868. f /
ti '.000
Frank Girardi , REHS Nuel C .
