SCOPE OF WORK
INSTALLATION AND ANNUAL OPERATION
CARBON TREATMENT SYSTEM
Canepa's Car Wash
6230 Pacific Avenue
Stockton, California
Prepared by:
CONDOR EARTH TECHNOLOGIES, INC.
CONDOR PROJECT NO. 1707B
September 20, 2001
The work to be completed by Condor for the above-referenced site will consist of the following tasks:
SCOPE OF WORK
TASK 1 Project Planning, Permitting, and Regulatory Agency Negotiations
This task includes Condor consulting hours associated with meetings and correspondence with the client
and the PHS/EHD, preparation of a work plan providing the carbon treatment system specifications, and
revising the permit with the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.
TASK 2 Carbon Treatment Installation
Condor will provide for the delivery and installation of the carbon treatment system, conduct startup testing,
and begin operation of the system.
TASK 3 Annual Operation of the Carbon Treatment System
Condor will inspect the system weekly for the first month, and monthly thereafter. At each inspection,
Condor will analyze inlet air, discharge air, and the air between the two carbon units with a
photoionization detector (PID). At breakthrough from the second unit, the carbon in the first unit will be
replaced. At system startup, and at quarterly intervals thereafter, inlet, between-unit, and exhaust air
samples will be collected and submitted to an analytical laboratory for confirmation analysis for benzene,
toluene, ethyl benzene, total xylenes, and MTBE. Information obtained at installation and startup will be
compiled in a report (see Task 4). Information obtained subsequent to installation and startup will be
included in quarterly groundwater monitoring reports .
TASK 4 Report Preparation
Condor will prepare a carbon treatment installation and startup report within 30 days of startup
describing the installation and initial field and laboratory sampling results.
\\Pdc\projects\1707B Canepa Carbon System\Scope0fWork9_20_01 .doc
