Weber Avenue, Third Floor
Stockton, California 95202
Re: Canepa's Car Wash, 6230 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA
Site Code: 1225; Condor Project No. 1707
Dear Mr. Wong:
This is just a brief note to let you know that the soil vapor extraction system has been shut down
at Canepa's Car Wash on Paefic Avenue (Site 1225). Last Friday we conducted monitoring of the
site and found that the destructive efficiency had dropped to between 80% and 90%. Inlet
concentration was at about 55 ppm and outlet concentrations varied between 5 and 10 ppm.
Under the air permit, we could not continue operation.
The recent restart of the system has provided valuable data, not the least. of which is that soil
vapor concentrations had not returned to the highs of over 1000 ppm experienced two years ago.
In fact, the inlet concentrations were in line with those immediately before the system was shut
down in February. Using this information, Condor is reevaluating the treatment technology.
With the low inlet concentrations and expenses of over $2000 a month for natural gas, carbon
treatment may be a more cost-effective treatment alternative.
We will continue to keep you informed of our progress .
Sincerely,
CONDOR EARTH TECHHNOLLOGIES, INC.
ff
7Wm P.E.
Project Manager
cc: Mr. Remo Canepa, Cianepa's Car Wash
PA1707 ranepa-Pacific\rnmspondenceVY-30-CC 1-Wonndoe
ENVIRONMENTAL GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING GEOTECHNICAL
http://www.condorearth.com
