The purpose of the proposed work is to further define the lateral and <br /> vertical extent of the contaminant plume and the lateral extent of vados-zone contamination. <br /> We requested quotes for the CPT/drilling from four firms. Fugro West declined to bid because they <br /> could only provide a portion of the services . John Sarmiento and Associates had their telephone <br /> disconnected . West Hazmat indicated they will be providing a bid, but what has been provided to date is <br /> incomplete. Gregg Drilling responded and we based our estimate on their bid. We need to move <br /> forward with pre-approval to meet the County' s deadline, but we will continue to work with West <br /> Hazmat to obtain a complete bid. Condor will confirm the status of the drillers ' bids with you and obtain <br /> your approval for the selected driller prior to scheduling work. <br /> This pre-approval request includes the following items as attachments : <br /> 1 . Pre-Approval Request Form, <br /> 2 . The PHS/EHD letter dated May 4, 2001 directing the site work, <br /> 3 . A Condor letter of May 14 asking for time extensions, <br /> 4, The PHS/EHD letter dated May 18 graining the time extensions, <br /> 5 . Detailed scope of work and cost estimate, and <br /> 6, Gregg Drilling estimate. <br /> On behalf of Mr. Remo Canepa, Condor respectfully requests that the three-bid requirement for <br /> consulting services be waived .
