Canepa,
As requested by Mr. Ronald Rowe of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) this letter ispresented as an addendum to our proposal
dated April 8, 1996. The purpose of the addendum is to detail the investigative work to be conducted
during the soil vapor eahactiou (SVE) system evaluation. The following work will be completed
during the site evaluation_
1 ) Explore the condition of all SVE wells at the site by evaluating each well for the
presence or absence of groundwater in or above the screened interval including
p gr $
measurements of depth to groundwater and the total depth of easing.
2) Calculate the volume of soil in the treatment area, including mass volume of
hydrocarbons based on existing soil boring data.
3) Determine the maximum flow rate and vacuum rating of the blower motor, including
type (i . e., rotary, regenerative, etc.).
4) Describe all instrumentation currently available or necessary in the testing and
operational phases for the SVE system.
5) Calculate the radius of influence and po{e volume exchange rates which may support
these values.
ENVIRONMENTAL • GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING • GEOTECHNICAL
