Quarterly Monitoring July 200I and
Sensitive Receptor Survey Report
Canepa's Car Wash(Pacific Avenue)
Page 8
restart of the system confirmed that the sot] vapor concentrations have not returned to the high
concentrations of greater than 1,000 ppm measured in 1999
6.0 SENSITIVE RECEPTOR SURVEY
Condor conducted a sensitive receptor survey within a 2,000-foot radius of the site to identify potential
areas of groundwater recharge or discharge (surface water bodies), schools, and potential water well
users that could be impacted by migration of groundwater from the site A vicinity map with a 2,000-foot
radius is shown in Figure 11, Appendix A The sensitive receptor survey consisted of inquiries to the
California Department of Water Resources (DWR), Central District in Sacramento, California,
contacting public water purveyors, visually inspecting the area, and interviewing residents located in the
site vicinity Well records are cross-referenced with Assessor's Parcel Maps (APN) and city street maps
This process helps identify records that are estimated to be within the 2,000-foot radius DWR records
typically consist of the owner's name, well location map, address of well, and the type of well
Documents provided by the DWR, associated with Section, Township, and Range, include information
pertaining to 16 domestic water wells A review of DWR records found that one record was illegible or
incomplete and could not be identified with present day owners Based on a review of Assessor's Parcel
Maps, area reconnaissance, and the city street maps, 10 well records contained location data outside of
the 2,000-foot radius Five well records were verified to be within the 2,000-foot radius
6 1 DWR RECORDS WITHIN 2,000 FEET
According to DWR records correlated with present day APN and mapping information, five well records
lie are within 2,000 feet of the Site
+ Two wells were destroyed using pea gravel and cement according to the DWR records
+ Two wells were identified by permission of the owner or resident during the site reconnaissance
Currently, neither well is being used
+ Condor was not able to locate one of the wells during the field reconnaissance
Information for the three wells within 2,000 feet of the site that have not apparently been destroyed is
presented in Table d on the next page
I
it.19 CONDOR
