June I3, 1997 -.
Mage .5
f
The site currently exists as a vacant lot. All structures of the former
service station have been removed. Thus, all sources of petroleum
discharge at the site have been removed.
• No SPH has been observed in site wells.
• No MtBE has been detected in groundwater.
• The dissolved-phase plume is small and stable in size.
• No drinking water wells or surface water bodies are within 750 feet of
the source of the discharge.
• Assessment and remediation costs incurred to date have been
$295,000. The cost of continued leasing of the property is $450 per
month.
• It is estimated that an additional $10,000 to $20,000 will.be required
to implement the SJCEHD's requested actions. PACIFIC believes
that sufficient financial resources have already been expended to
establish lack of threat to public health and the environment, and to
warrant no further regulatory action. 1
Based on the above factors, this case should be closed and no further regulatory action
required.
Should you have any questions regarding this request, please call.
Sincerely, `S FR D cac
Pacifte.
