Boring log B-4 denoted hydrocarbon odors at depths of 20-26
feet.
Additionally, in the May 1990 Applied Geosystems report, the groundwater total
petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations were mapped. The data recently gathered
from MW 6 can easily complete the southeasterly portion of the map, thus
dismissing the illusion of off-site influences.
The data gathered to date is sufficient for Unocal to prepare a proposal for
remediation for the site's restoration.
The site has undergone several personnel transitions since 1991 within the Unocal
Corporation and within the Resna Industry (Applied Geosystems) . A meeting has
been scheduled for June 9, 1993 at 2:00 p.m. so that the perspective on the
site's restoration can be discussed and to provide an opportunity for all parties
to meet.
i
Please contact Diane Hinson, Supervising R.E.H.S. at (209) 468-3452 to confirm
the meeting date and to discuss the items in this letter.
Jogi Khanna,,-M.D. , M.P.H.
Health Officer
aurie A.
