Box 1948 <br /> Sacramento, California 95812-1948 <br /> Subject: Addendum to proposed Work Plan for Assessment of Soil <br /> and Ground-Water Contamination at former UNOCAL Station <br /> No. 2859, 1665 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California. <br /> Mr. Comstock: <br /> Mr. David Carls of the San Joaquin Local Health District has <br /> given his approval to proceed with the work proposed in the above <br /> referenced work plan with the following stipulations: <br /> o All monitoring wells will be located at least 10 feet <br /> from any property lines and 50 feet from any sewer lines <br /> o To comply with the above requirement, the locations of <br /> monitoring wells MW-2 and MW-3 will be changed as <br /> indicated on the attached amended Plate P-2 . These <br /> locations meet setback requirements based on sewer <br /> locations as indicated on maps furnished by the City of <br /> Stockton, Department of Public Works. <br /> o Soil samples from borings will be field screened using an <br /> organic vapor analyzer (OVA) . Soil samples selected for <br /> laboratory analysis from each boring will include the <br /> sample having the highest OVA reading and the sample <br /> immediately above the ground-water surface. If the <br /> sample having the highest OVA reading is the sample <br /> immediately above the ground-water surface, only one <br /> sample from that boring will be analyzed. <br /> o Drill cuttings generated during monitor well installation <br /> will be placed on, and covered by, plastic sheeting. <br /> o All water purged from wells during development and <br /> sampling will be placed in drums on the site. <br />
