It is our understanding, based on information
provided by personnel of UNOCAL Corporation, that the two tanks
present in the gasoline storage tank pit thO site were used to
store unleaded and super unleaded gasolil:p product, and that both
tanks had 10,00o-gallon capacities. In a661vion, one tank with a
550-gallon capacity that ha- been used to store waste oil was
removed from the site.
North Cal Construction of Stockton, California, conducted the
tank removal operations. Mr. A. O'Neil of the Stockton Fire
° Department was present during tank removal operations. Soil
samples taken at the site during tank removal operations
contained levels of hydrocarbon contamination that exceed action
levels specified by the San Joaquin Local Health District. Soil
containing such elevated levels has now been largely removed from
the area of the tanks by excavation. With the approval of the
California Regional Water Quality Control Beard and the San
Joaquin Local Health District, contaminated soil has been removed
to North Cal Construction's yard in Stockton for aeration.
Copies of all laboratory Records of Analyses are included in
Appendix A of this report.
!.J
