• Work Plan For Monitoring Well Installation—Former Unocal Service Station#2859 <br /> June 24 1999 <br /> Task 3.Survey Well Elevations <br /> Following installation, the top of casing elevations for the newly installed wells will be <br /> surveyed to mean sea level by a California licensed surveyor Horizontal coordinates of the <br /> well locations will also be obtained by the surveyor <br /> Task 4.Well Development and Sampling <br /> GR will develop the newly installed groundwater monitoring wells after they have been <br /> allowed to stand a minimum of 72 hours following installation Groundwater removed from <br /> wells during development and sampling will be transported to the Tosco Refinery in Rodeo, <br /> California, for disposal Immediately following development, groundwater samples will be <br /> collected from each well These wells will then be added to the regularly scheduled quarterly <br /> monitoring and sampling program <br /> Task 5.Laboratory Analyses <br /> Selected soil and groundwater samples will be submitted for chemical analyses by Sequoia <br /> Analytical, a California state-certified Hazardous Material Testing laboratory Samples will be <br /> analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) by Environmental Protection <br /> Agency (EPA) Method 8015 (Modified), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes <br /> • (BTEX) and methyl tert-butyl ether(MtBE) by EPA Method 8260B The stockpile soil sample <br /> will be analyzed for TPHg, BTEX,MtBE and total lead by EPA Method 6010 <br /> Task 6.Report Preparation <br /> Following receipt and analysis of all data, a report will be prepared which summarizes the <br /> procedures and findings associated with this investigation This report will be submitted to <br /> Unocal for their use and distribution <br /> PROJECT STAFF <br /> Mr Stephen J Carter, a Registered Geologist in the State of California (R G No 5577), will provide <br /> technical oversight and review of the work Mr Greg A Gurss, Senior Project Manager, will <br /> supervise implementation of field and office operations GR employs a staff of geologists, engineers, <br /> and technicians who will assist with the project <br /> . 24007202-1 3 <br />
