(AGE) in response to the EHD letter dated
1/12/2009.
In the WP, AGE provides a leak detection protocol to implement during collection of soil
gas samples which consists applying the isopropyl alcohol to the around the base to the
probe rod where it contacts the ground/soil soil boring. The EHD approves of the leak
detection protocol as described in the WP under the condition that the isopropyl alcohol
also be applied to the fittings and connections of the sampling apparatus in addition to ;
the rod/ground interface. The EHD approves the scope of work proposed in the Work
Plan Addendum dated February 10, 2009. However, the EHD recommends that only
borings yielding soil with significant soil contamination should be converted to Soil Vapor
Extraction wells.
The EHD has received a well permit application, the $89.00 permit fee and the $345.00
inspection fee for the proposed work. Once the well permits have been approved, notify
EHD of the proposed schedule for the work. The EHD requires a minimum 48-hour
notice prior to initiation of any field work on the site. The EHD directs that the proposed
work be implemented by August 27, 2010.
If you have any questions, please contact Frank Girardi, Senior Registered
Environmental Health Specialist, at (209) 953-7868.
c
'00000014'..
Frank Girardi, REHS Nuel C.
