Quarterly Report
I December 1996
CALIFORNIA FUELS CARDLOCK STATION
2402 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California
10. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK
In accordance with the request of Mr David Atwater of Van De Pol Enterprises, Advanced
GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has performed quarterly ground water monitoring activities at 2402
Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California (the site)
This report details the monitoring and sampling procedures performed on 02 December 1996, and
presents the results of the laboratory analysis The objective of the sampling is to monitor
concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in ground water at the site A summary of previous
investigations at the site was included in the Pi ehnnnary Investigation and Evaluation Repof t -
IAugust 1996, dated 09 September 1996, prepared by AGE The location of the site and the
immediately surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1 -Location Map General site features and
monitoring well locations are shown on Figure 2 - Site Platt
The monitoring and sampling was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health
Sen ices - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Regional Water Quality Control Board
(RWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites
2 0. PROCEDURES
2 1 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 02 December 1996, the depth to ground water in monitoring wells NIW-1 through MW-4 was
measured to the nearest 0 01 foot from the tops of the well casings utilizing a Solinst water level
meter Relative ground water elevations were calculated by subtracting the depth to ground water
from the relative casing elevations surveyed from a temporary benchmark assigned an arbitrary
elevation (Table 1- Relative Giound Water Elevations) Relative ground water elevations were
plotted and contoured on a scaled site map (Figure 3-Relative Ground Water Elevation Map)
After water levels were -measured, a minimum of three xveil ofom,,mrl xxrater-. gas mirgerrl
from each well using a two-stage pump Approximately five to eight gallons of water was removed
from well MW-1 through MW-4
Temperature, pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals from each well using an ICM
Model 52200 water analyzer Stabilization data and field logs are contained in Appendix A Purged
1 0 ground water was labeled and stored in 55-gallon drums on-site in an area lacking public
