' 06 July 1999
i AGE-NC Project No 95-0173
• TBA was detected in ground water samples collected from wells MW-7 and MW-8 at
concentrations as high as 21 yg/l
• From January to April 1999, a decrease in dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations
' was observed from well MW-1, MW-3, MW-4 and AW-213 (Table 2) Conversely,increases
were observed from wells MW-2, MW-7, MW-9 and MW-10
' • The elevated concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons detected in samples collected from
wells VW-1, AW-1B,AW-213, MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4 indicate that these wells are within
or near the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon "core area" of the plume
' • The dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon plume appears to be sufficiently contained within the
current array of ground water monitoring wells, however the increased hydrocarbon
' concentrations reported in wells MW-2, MW-9 and MW-10 and decreased concentrations
reported in well MW-1, MW-3 and MW-4 may indicate migration of the plume
southeastward
lie5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon data collected during April 1999, AGE recommends
• Continued quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling should be performed at the site
to monitor dissolved TPH-g,TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE and fuel oxygenating compounds at the
' site The next quarterly monitoring event should be tentatively scheduled for July 1999
• Continued utilization of wells VW-1, AW-1B and AW-213 for characterization of ground
' water conditions in the "core area"
• Installation of the proposed remediation system (Remedial Action Work Plan, dated 30
' December 1998) upon pre-approval by the California Underground Storage Tank Cleanup
Fund
6.0. LIMITATIONS -
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydro-
geologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number
' Advanced GeoEn%iron mental,Inc
