Dixon, Esq_ <br /> Associate General Counsel <br /> Unocal Corporation <br /> 1201 Fifth Street <br /> Los Angeles, CA 90017 <br /> Re: Vic Administrative order on Consent <br /> Docket No. UIC NA©-91-10 <br /> Dear Mr. Dixon: <br /> The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is pleased to <br /> acknowledge that Unocal Corporation (Unocal) has fully met its <br /> obligations under the above referenced UIC Administrative order <br /> on Consent_ Pursuant to Subparagraph 49 (b) , Unocal's obligations <br /> under the UIC Administrative order on Consent are terminated as <br /> of the date of receipt of this correspondence. <br /> Based on data submitted by Unocal on February 22, 1994, EPA <br /> finds that: <br /> Unodg�l completed closure of 109 (100%) of its wells by <br /> December 29, 1993, two days before the compliance date <br /> specified in subparagraph 39(c) (iv) <br /> b) Unocal had 14 (13%) of its well closures overseen by <br /> an independent contractor(s) exceeding the 10% <br /> oversight requirement contained in Paragraph 40; and <br /> ;r <br /> c) Unocal issued waste Minimization Plan letters to the <br /> Majority of its facility owners/operators or lessee <br /> dealers on August 18, 1991. Facilities added to the <br /> inventory after December 31, 1991, received Waste <br /> Minimization letters at the time they were confirmed to <br /> have 5X28 Class V injection `sells, and if the <br /> facilities were still engaged in auto service <br /> activities. <br />
