August 10, 1998 FLUOR DANIEL GTI <br /> Mr Bob DeNmno <br /> The Southland Corporation <br /> 10220 S W Greenburg Road, Suite 470 <br /> Portland, Oregon 97233 <br /> RE Executive Summary <br /> Southland Store (7-Eleven) No 17334 <br /> 4501 North Pershing Avenue <br /> Stockton, California <br /> Dear Mr DeNinno <br /> The following includes a summary of past environmental activities and proposed activates to be <br /> completed at the subject site <br /> Background <br /> The subject site is located on the northwest corner of Rosemarie Lane and North Pershing Avenue in <br /> Stockton (Attachment 1, Figure 1) The site is owned by The Southland Corporation and currently <br /> contains three 10,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs) and associated fuel dispensers <br /> On February 20, 1997, Fluor Daniel GTI supervised the advancement of four angled and three vertical <br /> geoprobe borings (GP-1 through GP-7) at the site (Attachment 1,Figure 2) Sod samples were <br /> collected from the borings at vertical depths of 15 feet to 22 feet below ground surface (BGS) Srx <br /> borings (GP-1 through GP-6) were drilled beneath the three 10,000-gallon USTs at the site as required <br /> by the SJCPHS prior to tank lining permit approval In addition, groundwater grab samples were <br /> collected from borings GP-3, GP-4, and GP-7 <br /> Of the samples collected from the borings drilled on February 20, 1997, benzene was detected in soil <br /> sample GP-4-17' at a concentration of 0 0095 milligrams per kilogram (mglkg) Total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G) was not detected in any of the sod samples collected The highest <br /> methyl-tert-butyl ether(MTBE) concentration was reported in sample GP-1-15' at 0 76 mg/kg <br /> Presence of MTBE was confirmed by EPA method 8260 in the same sample at 0 91 mg/kg <br /> 17334EXE LTR <br /> 757 Arnold Drive, Suite D /Martinez, CA 94553 USA (510) 370-3990 FAX (510) 370-3991 <br />
