Kennedy/Jenks Consultants <br /> 6.6 Training <br /> K/J personnel participating in field activities will have completed the Hazardous Waste <br /> Operations and Emergency Response 40-hour health and safety training course <br /> (29 CFR 1910.20) or have equivalent training. Training requirements are discussed in K/J's <br /> Corporate Health and Safety Program. Prior to each day of work, a meeting will be held at <br /> the site to familiarize personnel with health and safety issues, protective equipment, <br /> emergency information and supplies, and to discuss special topics. <br /> 6.7 Medical Monitoring <br /> KIJ personnel participating in field activities will be included -in a medical monitoring pro- <br /> gram. The program includes a baseline physical examination, pulmonary function test, and <br /> blood and urine tests. Annual follow-up examinations are included. Details of the medical <br /> program are included in K/J's Corporate Health and Safety Program. <br /> 6.8 Sanitation <br /> The site has no drinking water, washing water, or restroom facilities available. Drinking <br /> water and washing water is available at the 7-Eleven store near the site. Restroom facili- <br /> ties are available at nearby gas stations and restaurants. No eating, smoking, or gum <br /> chewing is allowed in restricted areas. <br /> 7.0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN <br /> Hazard recognition is an essential part of the Emergency Response Plan. Initiation of the <br /> contingency plan relies on the employee's ability to recognize an emergency or potential for <br /> an emergency. The following is a list of events which will immediately initiate emergency <br /> procedures: <br /> • Explosion <br /> • Fire <br /> • Release of organic vapors or particulate above the action levels <br /> • Personal injury <br /> • Failure or expected failure of run-on/run-off control measures <br /> • Natural occurrences, i.e., lightning, earthquake, tornado, high winds, etc. <br /> Emergency communications will consist of three methods: <br /> gAjohs19405491H&Splanlplan 8 940549.00 <br />
