I <br /> A California Department of Transportation specified Class H road base was used to cap the pea <br /> gravel within two inches of the paved surface. The BSK engineer observed the compacting <br />' effort of the base material and tested the material for compaction once the final grade was <br /> achieved According to the BSK engineer the base material exceeded the 90 percent compaction <br /> at each test point. The BSK geotechrucal report 1s included as Appendix N. <br /> tTraffic rated vault boxes were set around the water meter and the property's main shut-off valve <br /> located at the south end of the excavation. <br /> On June 21, 1993 a total of four inches of asphalt, laid in two lifts was placed over the <br /> excavated area. The excavated area was brought to grade with two inches of asphalt to match <br />' the existing grade. An additional two inches of asphalt was overlaid over a 3,100 square foot <br /> area surrounding the excavation and over the initial two inch lift covering the excavation. Two <br /> traffic rated vault boxes were re-set around monitoring well MW 1 and MM so that the boxes <br />' would match the new surface elevation. <br />' 3.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Removal of the soil material at the property located at 4555 North Pershing Avenue in Stockton, <br />' California was performed in conformance with the requirements of the San Joaquin County <br /> Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division, and to the satisfaction of Mr. Collins, <br /> the County inspector. <br /> A total of 360 cubic yards of soil were removed from the excavation, transported <br /> off-site and disposed of at the Forward Class M Landfill in Stockton, California. <br /> • Laboratory analytical data indicated that the three eight-part composite samples <br /> collected from the soil material stockpiled within the excavation contained no <br />' detectable concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons, volatile organic <br /> compounds, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene or xylenes. The data also indicated <br /> that all detectable metals concentrations were below the California Code of <br />' Regulations, Title 22, Total Threshold Limit Concentration values. <br /> • The excavation was backfilled and resurfaced to restore the property to a useable <br />' condition <br /> 1 <br /> myZ[cQ 8 <br />
