1 <br /> 16,t 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report describes the excavation procedures, soil transportation, soil disposal and backfilling <br /> procedures conducted at the former cardlock refueling facility located at 4555 North Pershing <br /> Avenue in Stockton, California This work was conducted in accordance with the proposal <br /> prepared by McLaren/Hart entitled "Revised Proposal to Perform Excavation, Soil Disposal and <br /> Backfilling of the Current Excavation Located at 4555 North Pershing Avenue in Stockton, <br /> California" dated May 18, 1993 and the agreement for consulting services between Neumiller <br /> & Beardslee and McLaren/Hart dated June 2, 1993, and two subsequent change orders dated <br /> June 15 and June 24, 1993 The proposal was written to comply with the requirements for site <br /> specific soil removal set by Michael Collins of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division. <br /> 1.1 Site Description <br /> The subject property is located near the northwest corner of the intersection of Pershing Avenue <br /> and Rose Mane Lane in Stockton, California. The subject property is bordered to the east by <br /> a veterinary hospital, to the south by a car wash, to the north by the Venetian Square Shopping <br /> Center, and to the west by retail businesses. A 7-11 convenience store which dispenses gasoline <br /> is located approximately 100 feet to the east of the subject property, at the northwest corner of <br /> the intersection of Rose Mane Lane and North Pershing Avenue; a shell service station is <br /> located approximately 150 feet southeast of the subject property, at the southwest corner of the <br /> intersection of Rose Mane Lane and North Pershing Avenue; and an Exxon service station was <br /> previously located approximately 200 feet to the southeast of the subject property, at the <br /> southeast corner of the intersection of Rose Mane Lane and North Pershing Avenue A Site <br /> Location Map is included as Figure 1. <br /> 1.2 Background <br /> i <br /> Previous investigations have been performed at the site by TreaTek, Inc and by TMC <br /> Environmental, Inc. Information regarding the prior investigations conducted at the site was <br /> provided to McLaren/Hart by Neumiller & Beardslee, and by the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services Environmental Health Division (San Joaquin County) <br /> TMC Environmental <br />' <br /> Nine soil borings were <br /> g dulled in June 1991 by TMC Environmental Inc. to maximum depths <br /> of 31 feet below ground surface at the subject property. Maximum concentrations of Total <br /> Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH), up to 300 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), were detected in <br /> the samples collected approximately 25 feet below ground surface from the borings drilled in <br /> the northeast corner of the property. <br /> mizioaz 1 <br /> 1 <br />
