Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
CHEVRON 5608 NORTH PERSHING, STOCKTON - QUARTERLY [MONITORING REPORTS AND !
PROPOSED WORK PLAN FOR ADDITIONAL GROUND WATER INVESTIGATION
We have reviewed the recent Quarterly monitoring reports prepared by Weiss
Associates and the 12 September 1989 work plan prepared by Dames & Moore ;
consultants for this site.
The quarterly ground water monitoring program has shown a significant increase
in hydrocarbon concentrations in some of the monitoring wells. Because many
of the on-site wells are now dry or contain insufficient water for adequate
sampling, Chevron has submitted a proposed work plan for additional
investigation to further define the extent of ground water contamination.
The proposed scope of work will include installation of four additional ground i
water monitoring wells, and testing to determine the hydraulic properties of
the aquifer materials. The proposed design and locations for the monitoring t
wells appears appropriate for this phase of the investigation. Therefore, we
recommend approval of the proposed work plan.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5731 . '
I
i
THOMAS D.
